"Our House, is a Very Very Very Fine House"

Last February Dustin's grandfather passed away. Yes I know that's a really sad way to start a blog! But, through his love for his child, he left Janice, Dustin's mom his home. And out of her love of me(hehe) she gave Dustin and I her house!
So here now it's been about 6 months since they (Dustin's parents) moved out and left us alone in the house.

We've been slowly moving things around get them how we like them. Cleaning everything (Janice used to smoke) and getting everything just so. We have 4 bedrooms, only 2 at the moment have beds in them. A nice size dining room (not done), an office (not done), HUGE living room (DONE!!!) and 2 bathrooms (Also done!!). Oh and of course the Kitchen (We want to redo all the cabinets but until we can afford that, it's done!!)

I really love being able to say "Our House" and "Our Home", and not "Your Parents". I love being about to put things where I want, and paint if I want without having to ask someone (aside from Dustin)first. I can't wait to start all the work to make it pretty, but right now we are still working on getting the last of his parents things out (Thanks Liane for having a yard sale and helping with that!) and getting our things in.

Sometimes I feel like it will never be done, because there is still SO much to do, but then I look around and realize that we are making progress still.

"Put Thou Thy Trust in God"

"Give to the winds thy fears;
hope, and be undismayed:
God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears;
God shall lift up thy head."

Dustin and I have had a rough few years, After he hurt his knee and they let him go from his job, we were living on just my pay. We looked to faith to help get us back on our feet. It was so hard for us to believe that there was someone out there that was looking out for us. We couldn't pay all of our bills and were living off our parents for the most part of 2 years. We let our light grow dim and sorrow and self pity filled our hearts. We knew there was a God, but that he was always there for us was just unbelievable he couldn't be there for us if we were having to go through these trials. We questioned his ways, and wondered why he would make us live like this, make us give up everything, rely on others so greatly!
It never dawned on us that our faith in our family and the love that they had for us was growing. We didn't stop to really look and see that we really hadden't given anything up! Maybe we wern't paying for it, but how many meals out or trips to the movies were paid for by someone who "just wanted to spend time" with us? little check's here and there which were "just enough" to pay this bill or that.
"Through waves and clouds and storms
his power will clear thy way:
wait thou his time; the darkest night
shall end in brightest day"

And then we started to add things up in our heads, and maybe, just maybe God was not punishing us, not letting us cry in vein, but letting us find strength in our family's and friends, letting us know how much they truely loved us and wanted to be there for us. Our faith began to grow again, and little by little we began to grow closer to Our Father in Heaven.
It's been a little while now, and while we arn't as strong as we once were, we are blooming and growing. We've begun talking about looking for a church were we feel that love and where we feel like we really belong, and Adrian and Linda are also looking with us, Since Linda is expecting little Reece anyday and wants to be close to home "just in case", we've been attending the Altha Methodist Church where we were married in the meantime. After Reece comes we all plan on trying a few new places and seeing where we really "fit".

LAME BLOG!

Okay, so I'm still trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing with these thing. I've never "blogged" before.
Today was a good day!
I worked most of the day (I get off at 4:30 on Friday's) then we got some food and come home! all and all a pretty much boring day!
We went swimming when we got home that was fun enough.
Now though we are sitting here with some of our best friends (yes DJ you are still my favorite;) watching T.V.
I'm thinking about working on Rachel's baby blanket. I've only got 2 squares and I need... 30? I really don't know I've got to count! This one is going to be burgundy, hunter green and brown. Those are the color's they are using in the nursery. I'm excited about doing this one because I'm using the new stitch that Kristy taught me. It seems to go a lot faster then the regular crochet.
Alrighty! Well this ends "Lame Blog!"

"Summer Lovin' "

Ok so maybe it's not summer yet, but it's close enough. Dustin and I are already ready! Last night we spent the early evening cleaning the pool (which we have to do nearly daily because of the pollen from the trees)and I've found it can be very relaxing! I remember when I was little I HATED to wait while this or that was done to the pool before I could get in. And there was no way I wanted to do it myself or even help to get it done faster. But I really like it now. I don't think Dustin finds it as relaxing as I do, he's decided he wishes the pool was smaller so he didn't have to do as much. Oh well! More for me!

"Getting to know you, getting to know all about you!"

Dustin and Debbie met the end 2002 when Debbie went with a friend, Kimberly Brock to meet her (Kim's) cousin’s (Kristy) new boyfriend (DJ!). Debbie and Dustin ended up spending the evening talking and visiting at Stacy's, a Marianna, Fl hot spot at the time.
After hanging out a few more times they didn't really talk again until one night in July of 2004. Kim (yes the same friend) had people over and wanted Debbie (who was living in Utah at the time) to talk to "Oxxx" (a.k.a Dustin) on the phone. So they talked and talked and talked!
Well it just so happened, that Debbie was coming home in a few days (for jury duty) and during that trip Debbie and Dustin spent every day together. Talking and getting to know each other.
Well after a tearful goodbye, on Debbie’s part (Debbie would like to think that Dustin cried his heart out when she left, but he swears he didn’t), Debbie went back to Utah. It wasn’t long before they both knew this long distance thing was NOT going to work. Long phone calls and many discussions and it was decided that Debbie should came back to Florida. So she packed her things and September 4th 2004, Dustin for the first time got on a plane and met Debbie in Colorado to help her drive her over loaded Chevy Caviler home.
After dating for a year Dustin ask Debbie to marry him while they were at AFYC (a youth camp where they both worked). She of course said “YES, YES, YES!!!”
In December, of 2005 they were married at the United Methodist Church, where Dustin grew up. Family and long time friends laughed and cried and Debbie and Dustin’s life together as a family started.

Starting Out!

This is "Our" first Blog! I put "our" in quotes because normally I (Debbie) am the one to do these things, and keep them up. Dustin will be my "Go to Guy" and will do most of the layout's, Picture/ Video Uploads, etc. I'll be the one (most of the time) to tell the stories, give the news and all that good stuff!
